    The FDIC, the other federal financial institution regulatory agencies, and the Federal Trade Commission (the agencies) have jointly published for comment the attached proposed regulations and guidelines on the accuracy and integrity of information furnished to consumer reporting agencies (CRAs) and proposed regulations on direct disputes to furnishers of this information. The agencies are proposing to adopt these guidelines and regulations to satisfy the requirements of section 312 of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act), which amended section 623 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Comments on the proposals are due by February 11, 2008.
