DOS NAMES ASSISTANT REGIONAL DIRECTORS
FOR DALLAS, SAN FRANCISCO REGIONS
The Board of Directors of the Fed.eral Deposit Insurance Corporation
tcxiay announced the appointment of assistant regional directors for the
Division of Supervision (DOS). Calvin B. Riddick will serve in Dallas and
J. George Doerr will serve in San Francisco.
DOS Director Paul G. Fritts said: "Both Calvin and John have
extensive experience in bank regulation and supervision. Their abilities
will be put to good use in their new positions."
At the time of their appointments Mr. Riddick was Chief of the
Assistance Transaction Section in the Failing Banks Section of DOS in
Washington. Mr. Doerr was Key Review Examiner in the San Francisco
Region.
Mr. Riddick, 44, a native of Chesapeake, Virginia, came to the FDIC
in January 1968 in the former Richmond Region. He was assigned to the
Raleigh, North Carolina, Field Office. He was promoted to Review Examiner
(EDP) in 1978. In 1981, after announcement that the Richmond Regional
Office would be closed, he transferred. to the Dallas Regional Office as a
review examiner. In July 1986 he transferred to Washington, D.C. as a
specialist in the Failing Banks and Assistance Transactions (FBAT)
Section. In August 1988 he was promoted to Chief of the Assistance
Transactions Section, the position he held at the time of his current
reassignment.

Mr. Riddick is a graduate of Old Dominion University, Norfolk,
Virginia, with a B.A. degree in economics, and of the Bank Administration
Institute School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin in
Madison. He and his wife, Anna, have four children.
Mr. Doerr, 41, a native of Hercules, California, joined the FDIC in
June 1970 as an assistant examiner in the San Francisco Field Office. He
was promoted to commissioned examiner in April 1975. In August 1979 he
was promoted to review examiner in the San Francisco Regional Office and
was appointed Key Review Examiner in April 1984, the position he held at
the time of his current reassignment.
Mr. Doerr earned a B.S. degree in business administration from St.
Mary's College in Moraga, California, graduating magna cum laude. He is
also an honors graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the
University of Washington. His graduate thesis, "Piercing the Interstate
Veil," has been placed in the permanent library at the school.
When he is not busy with his FDIC career, Mr. Doerr is active in
community theater. He appeared in eight plays from 1987 to 1989 at five
different theaters. He and his wife, Kathie, and their four children,
also have appeared in several other productions.
